This chart means that, for example, in Russia average household weekly spending per person is 123 USD, out of which 31% or 38 USD are spent on food; comparatively high proportion of spending on alcohol and tobacco. On the other hand, in France they spend apr 470 USD every week, out of which 13.5% or 63 USD go for food. Another country of interest, China, spends on average 43 USD weekly per person, out of which 21% or 9 USD go for food.
From this we can conclude how much every nation can spend on other things. Of course, differences among various income groups are not taken into account here.
